How to Play Bowling Bogey
Bowling Bogey is a free online ten-frame bowling game. Control your aim, spin, power and accuracy before sending the ball down the lane.
Your objective is to knock down as many pins as possible and build the highest score you can across ten frames.
1. Choose Your Angle
Use the Angle slider to aim left or right. Keeping the slider near the centre sends the ball on a straighter starting line.
2. Add Spin
Spin makes the ball hook as it travels towards the pins. Combining your starting angle with the correct amount of spin can help the ball enter the pins from a stronger angle.
3. Set Your Power
Press Set Power while the moving marker is at the strength you want. More power gives the ball greater speed and can improve pin carry, but power alone does not guarantee a strike.
4. Set Your Accuracy
After setting power, time the Accuracy meter. Stopping the marker close to the centre gives the most accurate release. Poor accuracy introduces more variation into the ball's path.
5. Bowl
When your shot is ready, press Bowl. The ball follows the angle, spin, power and accuracy you selected.
Bowling Rules and Scoring
A standard game contains ten frames. In most frames you have up to two rolls to knock down all ten pins.
Strike
Knocking down all ten pins with the first ball of a frame scores a strike. A strike is worth ten pins plus the number of pins knocked down by your next two rolls.
Spare
If you knock down all ten pins using both rolls of a frame, you score a spare. A spare is worth ten pins plus the number of pins knocked down by your next roll.
Open Frame
If pins remain standing after both rolls, the frame scores the number of pins you knocked down.
The Tenth Frame
A strike or spare in the tenth frame gives you the additional roll or rolls required to complete the final bonus.
A perfect bowling game scores 300 points.
Choosing a Bowling Ball
Bowling Bogey includes four ball styles. Each behaves slightly differently.
- Control: More forgiving accuracy with slightly reduced power and spin.
- Power: Hits harder but demands a more accurate release.
- Hook: Produces stronger spin and is useful for curved shots.
- Balanced: An even combination of power, spin and accuracy.
Can You Bowl a Strike?
Yes. Good pocket hits with suitable power and accuracy can send pins into neighbouring pins and produce a full strike. Different combinations of aim, hook and ball choice can produce different results.
Practice Mode lets you experiment with your shot without playing through a complete ten-frame game.
